Earlier this month, Preservation Maryland staff and members of the Maryland historic preservation community attended National Historic Preservation Advocacy Week in Washington, DC.
The annual advocacy event is hosted by Preservation Action and the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers to bring together preservation advocates from across the country to discuss broad policy and funding issues.
The focus of this year’s universal “ask” of legislators was on funding for the Historic Preservation Fund, which comes from off-shore drilling lease revenues, possible impacts of an impending comprehensive infrastructure bill on historic preservation, and the changes made to the Historic Tax Credit in the most recent tax reform legislation.
