The Revitalization Support Center
Preservation Maryland’s Revitalization Support Center aids organizations and developers with rehabilitation tax credit applications, National Register of Historic Places nominations, and project management, ensuring Maryland’s businesses and non-profits have cost-effective access to professional expertise for historic rehabilitation projects.
- Facilitate the adaptive reuse of historic rehabilitation projects
- Access tax credits in an equitable and inclusive manner
- List properties on the Maryland Inventory of Historic Properties (MIHP)
- Determine eligibility and apply for National Register of Historic Places listings
- Assist in drafting Section 106 reviews
- Pursue other valuable credits, subsidies, and preservation grants
The Revitalization Support Center will run parallel to our Historic Property Redevelopment Program, which directly funds and manages the revitalization of historic properties, catalyzing investment in the communities in which they reside. Now, in addition to our hands-on redevelopment projects, Preservation Maryland provides a service that will guide in the preservation of even more historic assets.
Through this program, communities statewide will benefit from:
- Attraction of private investment
- Creation of employment opportunities
- Reduced inventories of vacant/under-utilized space in hard-to-redevelop communities
- Improved living standards
- Increased tax base
Consultation services may be available on retainer, per-project, or hourly basis. If interested in learning more about the Revitalization Support Center or discussing components of a specific project, contact Lisa Jensen at ljensen@presmd.org
Can we count on you?
Preservation Maryland isn’t just preserving the past – we’re investing in our future. In just the past year we’ve invested heavily in our work and refused to accept the mounting challenges as a reason to retreat or hold our position. You are making it all possible.
