Preservation Maryland is seeking applications to fulfill a part-time paid internship best suited for current students or recent graduates with architectural experience.

Project: Provide essential fieldwork, documentation/measuring, drafting, and 2D/3D renderings for historic sites throughout Maryland. These are real-world projects that are done in collaboration with professional architects, preservationists, and planners and have direct impact on saving historic resources. Architectural interns must work independently to complete measured drawings from their own measurements, notes, and sketches.

Skills: Understanding of historic construction and architecture, ability to document buildings in the field, prepare field notes and measurements into floor plans and elevations, 3D rendering capability a major plus. This position is best suited for interns with a technical background in preservation, planning, and/or architecture. Intern must have their own access to design/CAD software and have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

When: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and filled based on available projects.

Compensation: Available compensation starts at $11/hour and has the opportunity to be coordinated to earn academic credit. Approved mileage and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
