The National History Day program reaches more than 500,000 middle and high school students around the world! And that program moved to Maryland in 1992, and culminates with the official contest taking place at the University of Maryland each year. With the scale of this initiative, organizers are always looking for volunteers and judges.
Update: The district contests have concluded! Students from across the state have participated in their district contests and some will move on to Maryland History Day. One of the projects moving on is a documentary-style video on the history of the Women’s Suffrage movement in Maryland by Prince George’s County students Precious Njoku, Alvaro Ceron-Ruiz, Damilola Folorunso, and Ayda Girma.
