The Southwest Partnership is crowdsourcing sites of historic and cultural meaning throughout Baltimore to inform maps, signs, tours, and a mobile app that all promote the neighborhoods of Barre Circle, Hollins Roundhouse, Poppleton, Franklin Square, Union Square, Mount Clare, and Pigtown.
SUBMIT YOUR STORY
Everyone in Baltimore is encouraged to participate by submitting locations, buildings, and stories that are important to you into a public spreadsheet. Sending just names and addresses is enough for the group to get started but including a few sentences about why the architecture or the people are significant is also helpful. Please also let us know if you have old pictures of locations and we will arrange to meet you to take some high quality scans of the pictures so we can use them for our project.
This project is being led by the Historic Preservation committee of the Southwest Partnership to meet on of their major goals of developing and creating historically significant signage in the community. To get more involved in this project and other programs with the Partnership, feel free to attend the Historic Preservation Committee meetings on the third Monday of the month at the Irish Railroad Workers Museums.
