Preservation Maryland recently hosted two information sessions to introduce our newest grant opportunities — and both recordings are now available to stream. If you weren’t able to join live, you can now catch up at your own pace.

Maritime Heritage Grant Program

Administered by Preservation Maryland in collaboration with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), this competitive, once-a-year grant provides direct assistance to promote the preservation of Maryland’s irreplaceable maritime heritage.

From fertile farmland to bountiful waters, Maryland’s history is intrinsically tied to the Chesapeake Bay, and this unique and diverse maritime story deserves to be told in its entirety. The program offers much-needed support to meet the historic preservation needs of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Assistance on Main Street

Preservation Maryland also administers a grant program that provides funding awards of up to $2,500 to support costs associated with professional services — including architecture, preservation, or other specialized expertise.

These grants can be used to support exterior improvements or critical upgrades necessary to return vacant or underutilized commercial buildings to productive use. This program is made possible with support from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development.
