Preservation Maryland has welcomed seasoned historic preservation professional Briana Paxton to the team as our Revitalization Policy Analyst. In this role Briana works on researching, developing, and advocating for policies that promote sustainable development.

“Our team has been familiar with Briana’s work for some time – she is a talented changemaker with experience in preservation policy, economics, civic data, smart growth, and advocacy,” said Preservation Maryland President & CEO Nick Redding. “Briana recently represented the organization at PastForward, the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s conference, bringing ideas to the national conversation, as well as leading our recent Statewide Smart Growth Workshop here in Maryland. Briana’s knowledge and leadership in the preservation community are a great asset to our team.”

Briana’s previous roles include Development Specialist at Ethos Preservation and Associate Principal at PlaceEconomics. On the national level, she brings the preservation voice to Congress as the Chairwoman of Preservation Action, a grassroots lobbying group dedicated to historic preservation.
