The Center for Preservation Innovation
(Historic Ellicott City Jail)
Located in the Ellicott City Historic District, this two-story Romanesque Revival structure dates back to 1851 and 1878. Preservation Maryland is working closely with Howard County to adaptively reuse the site and activate the area.
Key elements include:
- Collaborative office and research space for University of Maryland faculty and students
- Community meeting and event space
- Contemplative green space designed for reflection and resilience
- Headquarters for Preservation Maryland
