As we enter Women’s History Month, we’re recognizing the important work of The Maryland Women’s Heritage Center, an organization documenting and celebrating the contributions of Maryland women, past and present, and championing opportunities and equality for women and girls across the state.
In conjunction with the Maryland State Department of Education, the Center previously produced The Maryland Women’s Heritage Trail (above), a piece that identified and researched more than 150 sites across the state that reflect the accomplishments of diverse historical and contemporary women to all areas of society. The Heritage Trail is the only one of its kind in the nation, and has been endorsed by the National Women’s History Project and the National Association for Multicultural Education.
