Phoenix Rising was our biggest event yet with nearly 300 guests filling the Baltimore Museum of Industry’s waterfront location in Baltimore City. Each year, this capstone fundraising event showcases the strong connection that Marylander’s have to our state’s rich history and heritage.
During the event Executive Director, Nicholas A. Redding, remarked that, “Preservation enriches the lives of all Marylanders.” As a core belief of the organization, “Preservation Maryland is striving towards a future where every community has the tools and resources to save, restore and reuse the places that matter to them – and the ability to recognize the inherent and intrinsic value of historic places,” said Redding.
Preservation Maryland’s Six-to-Fix projects are announced each year in October and this year include ambitious undertakings like finding a lost French and Indian War-era fort and uncovering LGBTQ history across the state. Partners from each project attended Phoenix Rising and used it as an opportunity to garner early support and awareness.
The enthusiasm and momentum from Phoenix Rising supports Preservation Maryland’s impactful work across the state. If you missed the preservation party, you can support this important work now by making a donation to our Technical Assistance Fund.
