Workshops have been announced for a new grant program administered by the Maryland Historical Society through an annual recurring allocation to the state’s Preservation of Cultural Arts Fund.

Preservation Maryland was supportive of the state’s allocation of funds for this new capacity-building program for Maryland’s historic and cultural institutions and Jessica Feldt, Preservation Maryland’s Preservation Initiatives Manager, who administers our grant programs served on the Grant Program Advisory Committee.

The Pathways Grant Program will award up to a dozen grants, valued between $10,000 and $20,000, to Maryland cultural organizations that demonstrate new marketing initiatives and innovative business models, support professional development and capacity building, strategic planning, as well as, other initiatives that build the long-term capacity of the organization.

To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • stewards of cultural materials and/or historic sites or landscapes,
  • in good standing as a non-profit organization in the state of Maryland,
  • have an annual operating budget below $2 million with less than 50% constituted from public funding.
