MORE ABOUT PRESERVATION ADVOCACY

Preservation Action is the only national non-profit dedicated exclusively to lobbying for the best preservation policies at the federal level. The 501(c)4 organization strives to make historic preservation a national priority by advocating to all branches of government through a grassroots constituency empowered with information and training. Preservation Action is led by the Honorable Russ Carnahan, former 4-term Congressman from Missouri along with a strong Board of Directors and State Coordinators, comprised of regional preservation leaders. Each year, Preservation Action convenes National Preservation Advocacy Day that brings hundreds of preservationists and architects to Washington, DC to meet with decision-makers about the important role preservation plays in healthy, vibrant, and sustainable American cities and towns. Preservation Maryland is a long-time supporter and participant in federal and state preservation advocacy, and hosts Maryland History Advocacy Day in Annapolis annually.
