The Maryland Canal Towns Reinvestment & Revitalization Initiative (CTRR) provides funding to help bring vacant and underutilized historic buildings in Maryland’s canal communities back into productive use. The program focuses on preservation-based rehabilitation that strengthens historic downtowns and main streets while supporting community and economic revitalization. Preservation Maryland is administering the competitive grant program, which is funded through a National Park Service Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grant. Approximately $572,844 is available, with anticipated awards of $20,000–$150,000 for approximately 5–10 projects. A 25% cash or in-kind match is required, and grants are reimbursement-based. This in-person Q&A session is an opportunity to walk through the program, answer questions about eligibility and the application process, and help prospective applicants understand what will be needed for a strong, complete application.
