Preservation Maryland’s Director of Revitalization Initiatives Laura Houston recently received certification as a Historic Real Estate Development Finance Professional (HREDFP) from Grow America. HREDFP Certification is a professional credential given to individuals who successfully complete Grow America’s intensive historic real estate development finance training series. The training provides professionals working in the field of historic preservation and economic, housing, and community development with essential skills and knowledge in historic real estate development finance, including problem solving and deal structuring.

Laura currently oversees our Historic Property Redevelopment Program, serving as the primary liaison between the organization and its program partners, architects, engineers, construction firms, property owners, and developers.

“Laura’s already deep knowledge providing assistance to interested parties pursuing loans, options, and funds for historic properties and exploring potential redevelopment and investment opportunities for the organization, as well as overseeing complex historic property redevelopment projects across the state, is only further expanded by this professional credential,” said Preservation Maryland’s President & CEO Nicholas Redding. “Something we all respect about Laura is that she is a lifelong learner – someone who is always looking to gain knowledge, explore educational opportunities, and further her experience in historic preservation and beyond”
