UMD, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING, MARYLAND ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES AND THE MARYLAND MUNICIPAL LEAGUE – THE ASSOCIATION OF CITIES AND TOWNS.
It has now been more than 25 years since the state adopted its pioneering approach to Smart Growth. At this summit, we will consider the progress we have made and explore how Smart Growth can lead to a more sustainable and equitable Maryland.
This one day summit will have multiple sessions with expert panelists covering the following topics:
- Urban and Rural Placemaking
- Transportation
- Climate
- Natural Resources
- Housing
- Social and Economic Development
The first half of the day wraps up with a catered lunch and legislative discussion, followed by a panel of state and national representatives. The second half of the day will focus on strategizing how to approach the roadblocks in the above mentioned areas.
