Our annual fundraising event Phoenix Rising is a time to gather with colleagues, partners, and supporters to celebrate our ongoing work rehabilitating important historic structures, providing grants to at-risk historic places, training tradespeople, advocating for preservation policies, and fighting for common sense smart growth in some of the fastest-growing communities in Maryland. Each year is a new venue and feel, but two important things remain consistent: everyone has fun and it’s a major source of funding for our growing programming throughout the year.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT THIS YEAR

  • We’ll be back in Baltimore, up the street from our offices, at the Heron Room at Mill No. 1. The Heron Room is in a beautiful historic building along the Jones Falls where we’ll have access to both indoor and outdoor space.
  • We’ll have a live band, open bar, and dinner catered by a Baltimore favorite, Cosima. Cosima is steps away from the Heron Room, and will be open exclusively for our guests that evening.
  • We’re switching back to a weekday evening this year – Thursday, November 2nd from 5-8p – so attendees can join us straight from the office!
  • Our Best of Maryland awards will be presented in categories like Stewardship, Artisan, and Preservation Champion.

WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN US

  • In addition to an evening of celebration, entertainment, and good food, Phoenix Rising is a great way to network with other Maryland professionals in – and outside of – the preservation field.
  • This is our largest fundraising event of the year and helps support our programming like advocacy, preservation services, and historic rehabilitation projects.
